Ginter Park Policies

Pool Rules & Regulations

  • Membership wristbndds are required for entry.
  • Lifeguards have the authority to enforce all rules.
  • Children under 10 are not permitted to stay at the pool unsupervised.
  • Children between the ages of 10 and 12 must first pass a swimming test before coming to the pool unsupervised.
  • At their discretion, lifeguards have the authority to administer a swimming test to any individual ( a swimming test consists of swimming the length of the pool without assistance, treading water for 1 minute, and floating on his/her back for 1 minute.)
  • No one under 18 years of age is permitted in the adult lap pool unless allowed by a lifeguard.
  • Children over the age of 5 may not use the wading pool.
  • Inflatable objects are not permitted, unless they are used by a child as a safety assist and an adult is within arm’s reach.
  • Both the adult and child must be in the pool’s shallow end.
  • Do not distract the Lifeguards unnecessarily.
  • The following are not permitted: glass, profanity, illegal substances, running, horseplay, smoking and hanging on the safety rope.
  • No flips or inward dives are allowed from the side of the pool.
  • No diving into water less then 5 feet deep.
  • Use of phone is limited to two minutes.
  • Clean up after yourself.
  • Leave the property at closing time.
  • Only employees on duty are permitted to sit at the front gate stand.
  • In the event of inclement weather, the pool will be closed for 30 minutes after the last visible lightning or sound of thunder.

Diving Board Rules

  • No swimming in area marked for diving during “dive” time.
  • No double bouncing on diving board.
  • Only 1 person is allowed on the diving board at a time.
  • Dive directly in front of board, after making sure the dive area is clear.
  • Diving with or into flotation devices is not permitted.
  • No inward dives from the diving board.
  • No one is allowed to catch an individual jumping off the diving board.
  • No goggles or face masks may be worn while using the diving board.

General LGRA Rules

  • Leave promptly at closing time.
  • One chair per person.
  • After eating and drinking, clean up after yourself by placing trash in the proper receptacle.
  • Only persons over 18 years of age are allowed in the adult lap pool unless otherwise authorized by a lifeguard.

Weather Policy

  • It is the responsibility of the lifeguard to open or close the pool during a storm. Please listen to them carefully — for everyone’s safety.
  • In the event of inclement weather, the pool will be closed for 30 minutes after the last visible lightning or sound of thunder.
  • In the event of a hurricane or other serious weather condition the membership will be notified by email of any change in the operating hours.
  • This information will also be left on the voice mail of the LGRA office phone 321-1659.

Guest Policy

The purpose of the LGRA Guest Policy is to provide a method to allow members to bring guests to the LGRA pool in a manner which does not cause hardship to the members or the organization.

  • Local guests (those who reside in the Richmond area) are allowed only five visits to the LGRA Pool per swim season at a cost of $5.00 a visit or by using a Guest Pass
  • Out of town guests (those who reside outside of the Richmond area and visiting a LGRA member) are allowed admission to the LGRA pool for a period of up to three weeks at a cost of $20.00 per week.
  • The pool is for members only. Members may bring guests with them to the pool for a fee of $5 each, with the exception of holiday parties which is $10. The member must be present to sign in the guest.  Guest passes must be purchased by the member in advance from the office.  Board members wil have guest passes for sale as well.

Baby Sitter's Pass Policy

The purpose of the LGRA $75.00 Baby Sitter’s Pass is to allow a non-LGRA member to accompany LGRA member’s children to the pool. The Baby Sitter’s Pass only allows the non-LGRA member admission to the LGRA Pool when accompanying children who are members of LGRA.

The Baby Sitter’s Pass does not allow:

  • Persons with a Baby Sitter’s Pass admission to the LGRA Pool without children who are members of LGRA (i.e. alone).
  • Persons with a Baby Sitter’s Pass to bring non-LGRA members (i.e. the non-member’s children, family members or friends) to the LGRA Pool at any time.
